My family has owned
& operated Michael’s since 1999.
As a young boy Julian used to help prepare food in the kitchen, serve in the restaurant, fold and clean linen in the housekeeping department at his parents Motel in South Africa.
Jules continues the third generation of hospitality and after 4 years studying at Hotel School Technikon Witwatersrand – in 2001, Jules joined the family business ‘Michael’s Charcuterie’ and this is where the story continues…
For inspiration, we look to the seasons and to the natural relationships between our ingredients.

Our sandwiches are the talk of the town, specifically the Chicken Salad Sandwich (if you haven’t already tried it – be careful it’s addictive) and our healthy salads are unique and sought after, created by Cecille and made with LOVE and the freshest ingredients delivered daily.

Our Grand Cru Grandeur coffees are skillfully made bringing out rich, smooth and chocolatey flavours while our milkshakes bring all the boys and girls to Double Bay.
Don’t forget our freshly squeezed juices and tasty smoothies are popular all year round not to mention our expertly made freezocinos.
From simple eggs on toast to authentic South African Boerewors and eggs, uncommonly found Scottish Kipper to Israeli Shakshuka, we have breakfast to suit everyone’s taste.

Hot off the press
Our hormone and chemical free chickens are juicy and tender. Portuguese or Barbecue marinated in our special brine, slow rotisserie roasted along with a side of grilled and/or steamed vegetables – Simply Delicious.
